The bullmastiff is a modern breed originating in Britain in the mid-1800s. It was bred as a working dog developed primarily to deter poachers off estates. Known as the Gamekeeper’s Night Dog, the bullmastiff worked alongside the English estate gamekeeper and his family. The bullmastiff came about when gamekeepers crossed the large and strong mastiff with the fearless and aggressive bulldog to develop a breed with the right strength, speed, and size to fit the role.The twentieth century saw a decline in the poaching, so bullmastiffs were put to work for different purposes as sentries and guards alongside the police and military. In 1924, the bullmastiff was recognised as a breed by England’s the Kennel Club. The same year, the British Bullmastiff League was founded, which established the first official breed standard.

The bullmastiff is a large muscular dog that weighs 100–120 pounds and stands 61–69 centimetres tall at the withers. The bullmastiff is bred for strength, endurance, and speed. It has a broad, square head, a wrinkled face, a very pronounced stop with a dark short muzzle, and a slightly undershot bite. Ears are V-shaped that are a little darker in colour than the rest of the body. The bullmastiff has a broad chest, a thick and muscular brisket, and sloping, powerful shoulders. Its tail is set high on the body and tapers slightly to the tip, reaching the dog’s hocks. The bullmastiff wears a short coat that may appear as fawn, red, or brindle, the accepted breed colours for the Kennel Club registrations. The coat should have no white markings except a little on the chest. Its coat is short and extremely weather-resistant, which should be easy to groom. This means a weekly grooming using a mitt will suffice to keep the dead hair off and maintain a healthy-looking and clean coat. Thanks for visiting our website. I am called James Smith. The Smith family are the owners of Charming Bullmastiffs. We have been breeding this lovely breed dogs since 2016. My wife and I are pet lovers so we took up the initiative to breed these lovely dog breed to satisfy the needs of families who will want to own or add a new member to their family. My knowledge about the Bullmastiff Dog has grown as the years go by as they are a dog breed that are very smart and make us to learn new things everyday. My history with owning a puppy goes right back to my Christmas holidays when I was 10 years old. My parents bought me a lovely Bullmastiff puppy which I named Liam. Liam gave me a lot of childhood memories when I was growing as a teen. He was more than a best friend to me. He was so lovely and friendly. Each time I got angry back then about something, Liam was always there to console me and make me smile again. I always thought he could talk as he understood me so much. I always speak to him at times hoping he will respond. Everywhere I went to, Liam was with me. I met my wife in college. We were very good friends back then. She loved Liam until she insisted her parents should get her a Bullmastiff Puppy. That was how our love for this lovely dog breed grew up. Our dogs use to play together. Unfortunately in our later years at college, I lost my lovely puppy Liam. We grew up loving each other so much and loving this dog breed. Later on, we got married and with our love for the Bullmastiff we decided to breed and raise this dog breed and why not educate puppy lovers about the importance of owning a Bullmastiff puppy. Fast forward to today, my wife and I raise our 2 kids and breed the Puppies on our 3 acres of land where our puppies have enough space to play around. My family and I are dedicated to help everyone own the perfect, healthy puppy for their home. With our knowledge of this dog breed from childhood, we will say Bullmastiff Puppies are the best dogs to own. We spend our time in training these puppies and making sure we help families own the most intelligent of this dog breed.
